Bio, Contact, and Newsletter Info

Therese Arkenberg has only just earned her liberal arts degree (her major is interdisciplinary in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics), but already she's acquired some of that checkered past so frequently featured in writer's biographies. She's worked at a library, as a cashier at a craft store, as a tutor in philosophy, and as a volunteer income tax preparer. There was also the summer she earned a stipend crafting a research paper, which paid better than any other 12,000-word manuscript she'll ever write. Probably. The places she has spent the most nights of her life, ranked in order: Wisconsin; Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles. She loves all three.

Her first short story was accepted for publication in Byzarium on January 2, 2008. Her second story sold a few hours later, to MindFlights. Since then, her work has appeared in places including Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Daily Science Fiction, Crossed Genres, and the anthologies Thoughtcrime Experiments and Sword and Sorceress XXIV. She writes science fiction, fantasy, and the occasional love story. Some of her darker work has been described, to her surprise and secret pleasure, as horror. Aqua Vitae, her science fiction novella, was released by WolfSinger Publications in December 2011.
